You’ve heard the cliché, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” Well, (and this is going to sound corny, but who cares) here’s something that definitely shouldn’t stay in Vegas!

When I wrote The Bold Church Strategy: Serving our Way Back to the Center of the City, I highlighted Liberty Baptist Church in Las Vegas for its incredible impact in its city (for example, helping drop violent crime by 75% in a neighborhood, attracting the attention of the mayor of Las Vegas and a national new outlet and (more recently) starting a youth hockey team that partners with the city’s NHL team, the Vegas Golden Knights). A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit Liberty Baptist, tour the neighborhoods that the church is literally transforming through the power of the gospel and interview Pastor Matt Teis about key lessons from their success.
