New Hampshire is a unique state in that (1) it has the the 3rd largest legislative body in the world (with 400 members in its House of Representatives) and (2) it is the least religious state in the U.S. And that is why I am intrigued by and grateful for the ministry of my friend and colleague Neil Hubacker, who leads the Church Ambassador Network in New Hampshire.

I recently had the opportunity to travel to New Hampshire to see Neil’s ministry first-hand, and I was so blessed to see all that God is doing in the Granite State. Here’s our recent conversation about ministering to the 3rd largest legislature in the world:

Key Takeaways:

  • Some fascinating New Hampshire history, including the fact that the state adopted its Constitution on January 5, 1776 (prior to the national Declaration of Independence).
  • My Daniel Webster statue envy.
  • Neil’s call into ministry in the public square, and the nuts and bolts of his public theology.
  • How Neil is working to change the culture of the NH legislature and the Executive Council.
  • How Neil is helping Christians engage in the political sphere without getting sucked into the political spirit.
  • How Neil and Cornerstone are equipping churches to engage the issue of mental health.
  • The nuts and bolts of ministering to such a large group of people in a fiercely independent state.
