In 2020, I interviewed Pastor Matt Teis about the remarkable impact of Liberty Baptist Church in its zip code. Now, four years on, this church (under the leadership of Pastors Dave Teis and Matt Teis) is impacting Vegas as a whole and even the state of Nevada. Here’s an update on the remarkable impact of a church in (of all places) Las Vegas and what we can learn from their efforts.
Since graduating from Pensacola Christian College in 2000, Pastor Matt Teis has led the youth ministry, young adult ministry, and outreach programs of Liberty Baptist Church. He and his wife Breanna were married in June 2002. Pastor Matt currently serves as the Executive Pastor at Liberty Baptist Church.
Key Takeaways:
- What led to Pastor Matt Teis being named Citizen of the Month of Las Vegas.
- How Liberty Baptist served the city in the aftermath of the 2017 shooting on the Las Vegas strip.
- Recommendations for leading a ministry toward an outward focus and community impact.
- How Pastor Teis forms meaningful relationships with government officials (including Nevada’s current Governor) and impacts the city and state while remaining focused on the Gospel.
- How Pastor Teis navigates involvement in the public square and speaking up on Biblical principles while working alongside and serving government officials.
