Step #4: Strategically Solve Your Community’s Worst Problems
Are you and your church an indispensable part of your community?
Many church leaders and committed Christians talk about having impact in their communities. They want to be known for showing the love of Christ to their neighbors and solving big problems. But, actually accomplishing this is hard to do. As we have worked with churches and Christians around the country, we identified 4 key strategies for identifying and solving a community’s worst problems:
5 Strategies for Solving Community Problems
- Identify the natural bridges from your church into the community (for example, teachers or business leaders) or the ways you can use your “day job” as a bridge into the community.
- Identify the greatest challenges to and opportunities in your community (for example, many communities struggle with the drug epidemic, blighted properties, struggling schools or a homeless population).
- Identify community partners that can maximize your Gospel impact.
- Work strategically to help solve these challenges with a focus on Gospel impact.
